Timeline to soldier's cold-blooded murder

12.20pm – an off-duty British soldier returning to the army barracks in Woolwich is "rammed" by a blue Vauxhall Tigra (pictured above).

2The two attackers step out of the vehicle, and drag the victim to a wall. Witnesses say that the two men then "slash and stab" the injured soldier with cleavers and knives while shouting "Allah Akbar". They then drag the man's body into the road.

3Mum-of-two Ingrid Loyau-Kennett (48) stands by the victim and urges one of the men to put down his weapon.

4For 20 minutes, the bloodied attackers, still carrying their knives and cleavers (inset left), walk up and down the street. They urge people to take their pictures and record them.

5Armed officers arrive at the scene. When the killers spot them, they run at them with a gun and their knives. A female officer fires up to six shots, seriously injuring both men.
