Tighter rules on NAMA buy-ups

NAMA has tightened its rules for the purchase of property by its staff after a report from Deloitte.

The move follows the purchase of a property in Lucan, Co Dublin, by an employee from one of its debtors.

The independent review found that, while appropriate systems were in place to deal with actual or potential conflicts of interest, those policies had not been adhered to by the former employee of NAMA, Enda Farrell. Mr Farrell disputes this.

An internal investigation found that Mr Farrell did not buy his €410,000 home in Sundays Well, Lucan, below value.
