AN armed robbery at a Dublin bookmakers has been foiled by gardai.
The incident took place yesterday morning when takings at the Crumlin betting shop had been boosted by the Cheltenham festival.
A gang of at least three men were involved in the attempted robbery, which happened in the Sundrive Road area of Dublin 12 at 3.30am.
A safe was being loaded into a van when gardai arrived at the scene.
Garda subsequently arrested three men, two from Ballyfermot and one from Islandbridge.
