Thief nabbed on quad bike

A YOUNG man who stole toiletries worth €84 from a pharmacy was caught after he was arrested by a different garda for a drink-driving offence while on a quad bike.

Tony Francis (25), of Collins Place in Finglas, admitted before Blanchardstown District Court to charges of theft from the Unicare Pharmacy in Main Street, Finglas, and refusing to provide a blood sample to gardai on July 13, 2011.

Judge David McHugh fined Francis €200, disqualified him from driving for six years and ordered him to complete 200 hours community service in lieu of four months in prison.
