The Special One ... final whistle for psychic calf

Pajo, the 'psychic wonder calf,' has died.

The gifted grazer, who became famous for forecasting GAA match results, has swapped the meadows of Monaghan for the Elysian Fields.

Pajo even appeared on The Late Late Show with his owner Alan Sheridan (inset) last year after news spread of his special powers. Unlike many of the bovine brotherhood, Pajo died of natural causes.

"I found him dead on Friday. It was pneumonia," said Mr Sheridan (21). "People have been shaking my hand around Aughnamullen to tell me they're sorry for my loss," said the young farmer, who lives near Castleblaney.

Pajo was just two weeks old when a Facebook photo went viral of him eating a boiled egg at the Sheridan family kitchen table. Alan had brought him indoors as he was a bit sickly.

Later, he appeared on YouTube forecasting a win for Monaghan against Donegal in the 2013 Ulster football final by choosing between two bales of hay with rival county flags. He went on to make other successful match result predictions.

"We brought him all over the country as the most famous animal in the land. Like Jose Mourinho, he was The Special One," Mr Sheridan said.
