FOR most parents and their children, evoking baby memories involves pulling out dusty photo albums.

But every Christmas 22-year-old Howth woman Aisling Conlan can see on film how she looked just days after being born - because she was the baby in the Roddy Doyle film The Snapper.

The movie, which was released 1993, was screened on Sunday night and aspiring Olympic canoeist Aisling revealed that she was Georgina, the baby of the main character, Sharon. Aisling was born in Holles Street Hospital in November 1992 and was filmed for the movie just days later.

She said that every time it's screened she gets texts from her friends.

"I think I was around five or six when my parents told me. The first time I watched it the jokes went over my head.

"It is strange but when I'm watching it, sometimes I forget it's me," the pharmacology graduate said. Aisling is currently balancing a busy life of work and at least 20 hours of training each week for Rio 2016.

Two babies were needed for the role with a second newborn - Alannagh McMullan - taking the part of 'Baby Curley 2'.
