Tesco sales fall here

SUPERMARKET giant Tesco saw sales slip by 2.4pc across its Irish outlets in the last year.

Tesco Ireland, which employs 14,925 staff and contributes €2.7bn to the Irish economy annually, said the drop in sales reflected lower prices and "continued market decline".

Overall, the company reported growth of 2.8pc last year with sales of €3.07bn.
