Terror for office staff as quakes rock Philippines

A 6.1 magnitude earthquake has hit the Philippine coast, shaking the capital Manila.

The quake struck at 5.30am (Irish time) and residents in the capital's business district said they felt the tremor and that office buildings swayed. There was no immediate information on damage or injuries.

The United States Geological Survey said that a smaller, second quake occurred 21 miles under the surface.
