Teenager faces trial on robbery charge

A TEENAGER is facing trial for allegedly robbing a man of his mobile phone in west Dublin.

Patrick Byrne (18) had the case against him adjourned at Blanchardstown District Court for the preparation of a book of evidence.

Mr Byrne, with an address at Neilstown Avenue, Clondalkin, is charged with robbing a man of his mobile phone at Palmers- town Woods, also Clondalkin, last March 31.

A state solicitor told Judge David McHugh that the DPP was directing trial on indictment and sought an adjournment for the service of a book of evidence.

The judge granted free legal aid after defence solicitor Simon Fleming said Mr Byrne was not working.

The accused was remanded on bail.
