Teen charged with mugging

A 15-YEAR-OLD boy has been charged with mugging a woman who was grabbed from behind and flung on to a street in a bid to take her handbag.

He is also accused of trespassing at an apartment building in East Wall, Dublin, on June 10.

A lot of dough left in pizzeria

POLICE in Sydney may be close to unraveling the mystery of a man who left a lot of dough at an upscale pizzeria and cafe -- nearly $1m (¤725,000).

Police said a man wearing shorts and a tank top left a suitcase at Cafe Marco yesterday morning.

Staff at first thought it might contain a bomb but it turned out to be stuffed with $50 notes.

Officers arrested a man in connection with the incident yesterday afternoon.

New motor for Sweeney cops

THE stars of The Sweeney have got a new motor -- allowing them to focus on catching a new generation of villains.

The original 1970s show saw Jack Regan and George Carter, played by John Thaw and Dennis Waterman respectively, leap across the bonnets of a succession of Ford Granadas, Consuls and Cortinas.

The remake, which stars Ray Winstone and chart star Ben Drew as the hard-living cops, puts them behind the wheel of a rather more sensible Ford Focus hatchback.

Strictly says Hi-de-Hi to Su

STRICTLY Come Dancing star Anton Du Beke will say Hi-de-Hi to a new dance partner in the show's Christmas special.

The dancer, who was paired with Nancy Dell'Olio in this year's series, will dance with actress Su Pollard in the show.

Pollard, who played chalet maid Peggy in the holiday camp sitcom, will appear with Irish former boxer Barry McGuigan and EastEnders star Charlie Brooks in the festive show.
