Teen car thief drove at garda Pair accused of garage hold-up

A TEENAGER who was doing handbrake turns in a Dublin estate drove at a garda, forcing him to jump out of the way, a court heard.

Paul Duffy (19) led gardai on a high-speed chase before he ran from the car and was captured by them.

Duffy €600 and sentenced him to nine months in prison, suspended for one year.

Duffy, of Sheepmore Grove in Blanchardstown, admitted to stealing a car at Briarwood Gardens in Hartstown.

He also admitted dangerous driving and driving without insurance or a driving licence.

Pair accused of garage hold-up

A MAN accused of robbing a petrol station and impeding the garda investigation has been sent forward for trial.

Dean Wize (27) and a female co-accused, are alleged to have forced staff to hand over €490.

Wize, of Lower Sallynoggin Road, Dun Laoghaire, appeared atDun Laoghaire District Court charged with robbery and impeding an investigation.

The alleged incident took place at the Texaco Service Station, Deansgrange.
