Teen asked to help attacker

A TEENAGER, whose arm was slashed with a knife during a school row, is being asked to become involved in a crime diversion project for his attacker.

The defendant, a 17-year-old boy, had pleaded guilty at the Children's Court to assault causing harm to his former teenage classmate, at a south Dublin secondary school in May last year.

Garda Ciaran O'Mahony said that the incident, involving a scalpel, happened while the two were preparing for an exam in an art room.

A probation report on his suitability to take part in a crime diversion project was sought by the court.

The victim is being asked to become involved in the process.

Man 'drugged, tied and cut'

A CaliforniaN woman was in custody after authorities said she drugged her estranged husband, tied him to a bed, cut off his penis and put it through a garbage disposal.

Police said the 51-year-old man felt sick after being drugged, went to lie down and lost consciousness.

Catherine Kieu Becker (48) then tied the victim's arms and legs to the bed with rope, removed his clothes and attacked him with a 10- kitchen knife as he awoke.

Becker put the penis in the garbage disposal and turned it on, police said.
