THIS is the British teenager found dead with her boyfriend in an apparent double suicide after allegedly shooting dead a policeman in the US.
Alex Hollinghurst (17), from Manchester, and Brandon Goode (18) are believed to have killed Robert German on Saturday in a wealthy suburb of Orlando, Florida.
Police officers called to the scene found Mr German dying of gunshot wounds.
They heard another two shots and found the bodies of Goode and Hollinghurst, who is believed to have moved to the US six years ago.
Officials said the 31-year-old police officer, who had served on the force for five years, was gunned down after stopping the teenagers on foot then calling for back-up. He was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Centre where he was pronounced dead.
Paying tribute to the slain officer, local mayor Gary Bruhn said: "Mr German was well-known and well-liked. He was one of those men who would take the time to stop and talk to people."
Mr German's police department added: "The entire law enforcement community are mourning the loss of officer Robert German.
"Our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with officer German's family during this difficult time.
"We ask that you give the Windermere Police Department, our officers and the family, time to get through this tragedy."
The Orange County Sheriff's Office said it was believed Hollinghurst and Goode turned a gun on themselves after shooting the police officer at around 4am.
However, it is understood Hollinghurst's family believe she may have been murdered.
Grace Etchells, who went to primary school with Hollinghurst in Hadfield, Derbyshire, paid tribute to her friend on Twitter.
She wrote: "So horrible knowing a very close friend from primary, Alex Hollinghurst, sadly got taken from us in such horrific circumstances. RIP lovely xx."
