Teen addict's threat to family Drunk driver given €800 fine

A YOUTH who threatened his father and sister has told a court that he had battled with a problem with cannabis for more than four years.

Karl Rossiter (18), Whitestown Park, Mulhuddart, said he started taking the drug when he was just 14 years old.

His behaviour against his family shocked him so much that he said he immediately sought treatment.

Rossiter admitted before Blanchardstown District Court to threatening and abusive behaviour at the family home on February 2 last.

Judge Hugh O'Donnell ordered a probation report and adjourned sentencing to April.

Drunk driver given €800 fine

A DRUNK driver swerved onto the wrong side of the road causing other motorists to jam on their brakes, a court heard.

Tomas Bumblys (27) had celebrated Christmas Day in a friend's house, had a few drinks, and admitted it was foolish to get behind the wheel of his car.

Bumblys, of Foxborough Walk in Lucan, admitted before Blanchardstown District Court to drunk driving and dangerous driving. The incident took place on the Lucan Road shortly before 4am on December 26 last year.

A judge fined him €800 and banned him from driving for three years.
