Teen accused of death threat

A 16-YEAR-OLD boy accused of threatening to slit his social worker's throat has been remanded on continuing bail pending directions from the DPP.

The HSE social worker was threatened and prevented from getting out of her car during the alleged incident, which went on for 30 to 40 minutes, the Dublin Children's Court has already heard.

The boy had initially been refused bail at that court after he had been charged with damaging to the social worker's car and threatening to kill her in Dublin city centre on April 16.

However the boy was later granted bail in the High Court.

The US National Transportation Safety Board said the driver, Ophadell Williams, had almost no sleep in the three days leading up to the March 12, 2011 accident.

Williams has pleaded not guilty in New York to charges of manslaughter and homicide.
