Takeaway man kicked and broke glass door

A MAN who smashed a takeaway restaurant door with a kick was "frustrated" because it was closing for the night and he wanted food.

Kevin Moran (24) had his case adjourned at Dublin District Court for payment of compensation.

Moran, with an address at a Salvation Army hostel in York Street, Dublin 2, pleaded guilty to causing criminal damage at Fogo's takeaway in Aungier Street last May 7.

Sgt Niall Gillooly said the accused kicked the front door of the premises, breaking glass and causing €500 worth of damage.

Defence solicitor Daniel Hanahoe said Moran had been out with friends on the night and went to the takeaway regularly, but it was closing as he arrived and he kicked the door in frustration.
