Subway in €5m boost

THE Subway chain of specialist sandwich fast-food restaurants has opened its 1,700th outlet across Ireland and the UK , in Cork.

Businessman Owen O'Driscoll opened the doors to the new outlet in Douglas, Co Cork, bringing the total number of Subway restaurants in Ireland to 117.

The firm has announced plans to open 40 more outlets in Ireland, with a €5m investment and the creation of 400 new jobs.
