A DUBLIN student was among a group of youths who surrounded and trashed a car while a couple sat inside, it is alleged.
Alan Warner (21) is accused of being among four young men who kicked and punched the car, causing €500 worth of damage.
He had the case against him adjourned to May 14 when he appeared in Dun Laoghaire District Court.
Warner, with an address at Cois Cairn, Bray, is charged with causing criminal damage to a Fiat Punto at Burma car park, Killiney Hill on March 3.
Sgt Peadar McCann told the court the DPP was consenting to the case being dealt with at the district court.
Judge Bridget Reilly asked for an outline of the case for consideration of jurisdiction.
The sergeant said it would be alleged that the victim and his girlfriend were sitting in a car at 1am. The car was in a car park beside Killiney Hill.
It would be alleged that four men, including the defendant, surrounded the car and started kicking and punching it, causing damage by denting.
Judge Reilly accepted jurisdiction.
