Maia Dunphy announced her pregnancy with a hilarious tweet last week by posting a picture of a baby scan with a pint of Guinness photoshopped in his hand and joked with her hubby, "Well Johnny Vegas, at least we know he's definitely yours".

But while most people have been rushing to congratulate the What Women Want presenter, some of her followers have been giving her a little too much advice about what to expect when she has her first child.

The 39-year-old jokingly pleaded with her followers to stop sending her messages telling her that her life was over and she'll "never sleep again".

"Can people please stop sending me 'you'll never sleep again' and 'your life is over' messages. Really not helpful," she wrote online.

Meanwhile, Maia did admit that she was quite lonely at the start of her pregnancy.

"It was a lonely place at the beginning. I had just moved to a new city - London - and found out I was pregnant," she said.

"I had three months of 'what am I doing?'"
