Start-up ambassador

ENTERPRISE Ireland has announced the appointment of the man who helped to bring Irish food to Australia as the new start-up ambassador for the country.

Eamon Eastwood founded Taste Ireland, which imports and distributes Irish food brands across Australia and New Zealand.

He has been given the job as part of a strategy of encouraging overseas entrepreneurs to locate their start-up firms in Ireland.

Mr Eastwood is closely involved in the diaspora community and is a member of the Global Irish Network.

Taste Ireland has supply contracts with 700 stores including retail giants Woolworths and Coles who between them own 70pc of the Australian retail market.
