THIS is the moment sporting stars met their heroes.
The Special Olympics footballers trained alongside LA Galaxy soccer players yesterday.
Captain Robbie Keane was behind the initiative as his US team is in town to face Shamrock Rovers at the weekend.
He invited the athletes to the training session where they got to meet several of the players. It is the second time Keane has trained with the athletes.
The football legend and his wife Claudine are supporting the 88 Irish athletes heading to the 2015 Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles.
He is urging the country to get behind them and help raise the €440,000 target to fund the trip.
On Wednesday the team made children smile when they visited sick children in Our Lady's Hospital, Crumlin.
