GREATER use of public private partnerships could help Ireland avoid the devastating effects of a capital spending collapse.

The report, carried out by KPMG and IBEC, calls for a new long-term investment plan as well as a New National Infrastructure Authority. The report says that a clear business case exists for the greater use of PPPs, as they have a track-record of delivering infrastructure projects on time and within budget.
