A top English soccer player has been seriously injured in an assault outside a nightclub.
Dan Seaborne (24), of Championship club Southampton, was found lying on the ground with serious head injuries.
He was attacked early yesterday morning outside Junk nightclub in Southampton.
Two men, aged 35 and 29, have been arrested .
It appears the centre-half had been inside the club in London Road with friends earlier in the evening and an argument took place.
The row then escalated outside and police were called to the scene at around 2.51am.
Mr Seaborne was taken to hospital, where his condition was described as "serious but stable".
