Snow angels' recycling call

Snow angels Daniel Braide from Loughrea in Galway and Ella Duffy from Swords, are encouraging Irish people to recycle better this Christmas.

People here will generate 62,368 tonnes of packaging waste over the festive period and packaging recycling scheme Repak has enlisted Daniel and Ella (pictured below) to help spread the recycling message.

"A flurry of consumption happens at Christmas which results in a significant amount of waste and 25pc more packaging recycling," Repak chief executive Seamus Clancy said.

"Repak is encouraging consumers to be mindful of how much they are simply throwing away," he added.
