Smartphone increase

MOBILE network giant Vodafone Ireland has recorded a 30pc increase in smartphones on the network as the group posted its largest ever quarterly fall in key organic service revenue.

The company recorded a 4.2pc fall in organic service revenue and is the largest quarterly drop since the company started using the measurement in 2003.

The firm's customer base increased by 3.8pc within the year as it said that over one million of its customers use a smartphone.
