Silence speaks volumes as rivals remain 'polls' apart

As awkward silences go, this one would take some beating.

They were fierce rivals on the campaign trail and there's obviously still no love lost between Richard Boyd Barrett and Lucinda Creighton.

The People Before Profit campaigner and the Europe Minister seemed ill at ease sitting side by side at Dublin Castle yesterday. The vibes did not appear to be good as No campaigner RBB glowered ahead as he sat just inches away from Minister Creighton.

Although the battle was over, it seemed irreconcilable differences persisted as Taoiseach Enda Kenny's speech left them both waiting to be interviewed by RTE's Miriam O'Callaghan.
