GAA star Paul Galvin and his DJ girlfriend are set to marry.
It is reported that the Kerry footballer went down on one knee and proposed to Louise Duffy in New York last week.
The couple, who have been dating for more than two years, live together in Dublin.
Paul (34) is notoriously private about his relationship with the Today FM star and it is believed that the pair were keen to keep their news a secret.
The couple are back at home following their romantic trip, but Louise (28) is still on her holidays from work as she celebrates the good news with her family and close friends.
"Louise is still on holidays from Today FM so the news came as a shock to her colleagues too," a source told the Herald.
It has been a great year so far for the striking brunette who recently moved from early morning radio on Today FM.
The Mayo native is set to take over the lunchtime slot vacated by Cork host Keith Cunningham and Galvin expressed his delight at the time, saying: "No more 4am wake-ups for me."
It is said that the radio host now feels ready to settle down after securing more stability in her working life and getting away from early morning shifts.
Previously commenting on their relationship, Louise said the pair were "happy out", but has always insisted that she has no intention of talking about her private life.
"I hate talking about the relationship, to be honest, I can't get my head around people being interested in our love life," she revealed.
Her rumoured fiance has more time on his hands to plan a wedding now after announcing his retirement from inter-county football last month.
Louise posted a photo of her other-half on Twitter in his green and gold jersey, accompanied by the comment: "Very proud."
Galvin has won four All- Ireland and three All Stars in his career and was named Footballer of the Year in 2009.
