SUMMER showers will hit the May Bank Holiday weekend – although Met Eireann says it will be "mainly dry".
Forecaster Joanna Donnelly said temperatures at the weekend "will see highs of 13C or 14C at best".
However today could see temperatures reach 15C and it will be mostly dry on Friday, with the odd shower.
She added that, into next week, temperatures will get warmer as the days go by.
On Sunday night, showers will die out and clear spells will develop, although it will remain quite cool.
Bank Holiday Monday will have lighter winds, slightly higher temperatures and only a few scattered showers.
Met Eireann said in its monthly weather report that April was "cold and extremely windy at times, and wet in places".
Temperatures were below average for the time of year.
