It's a family affair for the Lyons sisters this Christmas as they take the lead roles in two festive shows in Dublin.

The all-singing, all-dancing girls appear in Aladdin at the Olympia Theatre and The Wizard of Oz at the National Concert Hall.

Ciara (22) plays Princess Jasmine in the Olympia panto, which also stars boyband sensation Hometown, Simon Delaney (inset) and Al Porter.

"It's brilliant, we're in full-time rehearsals at the moment," she said.

"The cast are amazing, we have so many incredible people in the show as well which is great."

"I've known Al Porter since I was about 10 and he is just hilarious, and Hometown are such amazing singers.

"It's amazing to be doing it with such a great cast especially when it's only my second panto. I played Belle in Beauty and the Beast at the Olympia last year.

"I've been doing singing, dancing and acting since I was about five so I've been doing it my whole life.

"I'm also a teacher at the Independent Theatre Workshop so it's great to be able to teach as well as perform," she added.

Lisa (16) will take on the role of Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz at the National Concert Hall and is quite the stage veteran despite her young age.

"My first role was Gretel when I was six so I've been doing shows since then," she said.

Lisa admits she's watched the iconic movie with Judy Garland over and over in preparation for her role.

"I've watched the movie so many times that I've lost count," she laughed.

"I loved the munchkin scenes in the show and I adore the costume, especially the red sparkly shoes."

The girls are all in shows at the same time and they said that they like to practice at home together.

"We do rehearse a lot at home and show each other our dances or read through lines together as well," Ciara said.

Younger sisters Ali (13) and Klara (8) are munchkins in the Wizard of Oz and the girls love being in a show and hanging out backstage.

"It's so fun and we've made so many friends," said Klara.

"It's nice to be able to practise and be in the same show together," said Ali.

Aladdin runs at the Olympia Theatre from December 11 until January 4, while the Wizard of Oz takes to the stage at The National Concert Hall from December 27 until January 3, 2015.
