Sherlock makes a case for comeback

Super sleuth Sherlock Holmes is on his way back to television screens.

The detective, played by Benedict Cumberbatch (left) will be reunited with Dr Watson (Martin Freeman) for a special instalment of the popular show, widely reported to involve a trip back in time to Victorian London, and three more episodes of a new series.

The hit BBC series, created by Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat, is inspired by the original stories created by Arthur Conan Doyle. It regularly pulls in huge audiences and has been a worldwide hit, propelling its two leading men to Hollywood roles and in Cumberbatch's case an Oscar nomination.
