Actress Sarah Greene has had a stellar year and is looking forward to relaxing at home in Cork with her family this Christmas.

It's been quite the year for Sarah: she received a Tony nomination for her recent role in the Broadway production of The Cripple of Inishmaan; starred in Noble; appeared in a fashion spread in the US edition of Vogue and landed a role opposite Bradley Cooper.

"I'm going down to Cork next week and one of my friends is getting married on December 29 so I'm excited for that," she told the Diary.

"I've a lovely week planned for myself. I've got a couple of weeks off from Penny Dreadful so I'm looking forward to going home.

"Penny Dreadful is amazing, I can't say a lot about it but it's great fun. It's a really lovely part," she added.

Sarah (pictured) will next appear in the 24 Hour Plays at the Abbey Theatre in February.

A host of famous faces from both stage and screen will unite for the project where six short plays will be written, rehearsed and presented all within 24 hours by the best of Irish writing and directing talent.

"I haven't even thought about it, it's the most terrifying in the world and I can't believe I agreed to do it again," Sarah confessed.

"It should be really fun and I haven't been on stage for a while so I'm going to embrace it but it's the scariest thing ever."

With such an incredible year behind her, it's hard for the brunette beauty to choose a highlight.

"Broadway was pretty special - also Noble and the fact that it got a US distribution deal, I think that's pretty special, especially for Christina and everything she does, so that was a highlight as well," she said.
