Sangart set to add 120 new jobs

US pharmaceutical group Sangart expects to double the workforce at its plant in Cork, creating a total of 250 jobs.

The San Diego-based company previously announced plans to hire 120 people at the facility in east Cork but has now revised its figures.

The facility will serve as Sangart's European headquarters, and the sales and manufacturing base in Europe for its oxygen therapeutic agents MP4OX and MP4CO. Donald Brown, Sangart's chief operations officer, said that Ireland's business-friendly environment and vast pool of educated employees were key factors in the firm's decision to locate here.
