Ten cars were broken into in Sallynoggin last weekend. One other car was burnt-out in the area.

The vehicle was the property of a young family with four children.

The Sallynoggin car break-ins follow a similar spate of crime in Ballybrack. Over the weekend of February 7, a number of vehicles were also broken into in Ballybrack, although no car was burnt-out.

It is understood that the criminal activity is "pretty organised".

The thieves were targeting valuable items left on display in the cars in the area.
