Ryanair jobs

Low-cost airline Ryanair has revealed plans to invest £8m (€9m) in a new aircraft maintenance facility at Glasgow Prestwick Airport.

The new hangar will add 200 engineering and support jobs at the location, where Ryanair already undertakes the bulk of maintenance on its fleet of 210 aircraft.

Ryanair said it had investigated other locations around Europe before opting for Glasgow.

The Irish group also announced that it is to operate three new destinations from Edinburgh: Marrakech in Morocco, Faro in Portugal and France's capital.
