Rose presenter Daithi may do ice challenge

DAITHI O'Se has been challenged to dump a bucket of ice water over his head live on air-by his mum-in-law.

The Rose of Tralee presenter is considering dousing himself in icy-water as he is nominated as the latest celeb to take on the challenge.

What started as an online attempt to raise awareness for Motor Neuron Disease has swept the celeb world with Oprah Winfrey, Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg taking part.

"The mother-in-law has thrown me under the bus with this one," Daithi joked.

But he is hopeful that the stunt would boost ratings if he carried it through.

Daithi said: "I'm considering it but the crew are worried about the health and safety rules. At the end of the day I don't want to set myself on fire and die, but I think it could top last year's highlight - the on-stage proposal," he said.

He added: "I'm willing to do it if the crew can guarantee my safety."

Daithi is not the only well-known Irishman who has been tasked with the freezing water dump - Niall Horan has been nominated by Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder.
