RORY McIlroy's ex-girlfriend Holly Sweeney has finally handed over the keys to her penthouse apartment in Belfast.
The 24-year-old, who dated the famous golfer for six years, bought her plush pad, known as 'The Boat' (right), after she and McIlroy split in 2011.
The couple moved out of the luxury mansion they shared in the countryside, which came complete with a golf course, hot tub and gym, and Sweeney set up camp in the city to get over the break-up.
But the blonde beauty and former Ulster Rugby cheerleader decided to put that phase of her life to bed once and for all and put the apartment on the market in early 2012, with an asking price of €830,000.
The 1,898 sq ft duplex previously hosted BBC's NI House Of The Year and has views of Belfast's harbour, with several balconies, a rooftop garden, a grand piano and fine art – not to mention space to house her dozens of pairs of Christian Louboutin heels.
However, the reality star and model has been unable to sell the property over the past two years and slashed the hefty price tag twice.
Selling it for €200,000 less than she was initially hoping for, Sweeney agreed a sale for "in and around" her current asking price of €600,000, a source confirmed to the Herald.
"The offer was accepted back in October but there was some kind of hold-up," the insider said.
During the time McIlroy's ex could not shift the property, Sweeney let it to the cast and crew of HBO's hit series Game Of Thrones, who rented it for a number of months while filming in Belfast.
When she moved out, she returned to live with her dad outside Belfast and has been on the lookout for a small country home for herself and her dogs.
Sweeney has stayed firmly out of the limelight since McIlroy announced his engagement to Danish tennis star Caroline Wozniacki.
