Ronan's horse firm returns €2.5m profit

DEVELOPER Johnny Ronan's eventing company has returned to profit and has plans for further expansion.

The property speculator's building empire is now in NAMA but his Enniskerry horse eventing company turned a €2.5m profit for 2009, compared to a loss of €746,586 in the previous year.

The company, which Mr Ronan owns and runs with his daughter Jodie, plans to develop the business once they have attracted sponsorship after its horses win some more competitions.

The business is a personal firm of Mr Ronan and does not appear to be directly linked to Treasury Holdings or Real Estate Opportunities, the property company that is majority-owned by Treasury.

Jodie Ronan is a well-known eventing specialist, often riding a horse called Dargle Looks.
