A drawing by Rembrandt valued at $250,000 (¤174,900) was stolen from a hotel in southern California in what sheriff's investigators said was a well-planned heist.
The pen-and-ink drawing, believed to be called The Judgment, was snatched while a curator was distracted by a guest at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Marina del Rey, a Los Angeles County Sheriff's spokesman said.
Detectives believe the theft occurred during a 15-minute window starting at 10.20pm.

The ceremonies come as the country struggles to recover from this year's devastating earthquake and tsunami.
Emperor Akihito, whose father made the unprecedented 1945 national radio address announcing the war could not be won, offered prayers for the dead and hopes for peace at today's memorial in Tokyo.
Dog back after a year missing
A Maltese dog that disappeared more than a year ago after a fatal car crash in New Mexico has been returned to surviving family members in Michigan.
The crash in June last year killed Gary Benson and his daughter, Emily.
Afterwards, his wife and four surviving children searched unsuccessfully for the family pet, named Caesar.
A volunteer at a shelter in Tucumcari contacted Ms Benson after scanning a microchip in Caesar earlier this month.
