Receiver appointed for Celtic Tiger high-flyers mansion

A RECEIVER has been appointed to oversee the company that owns the luxury family home of Celtic Tiger golden couple Brian and Mary Pat O'Donnell.

The home is supposed to be run 'in trust' for the couple's four children, however, lawyers for Bank of Ireland told the Commercial Court that it regards the trust as a "sham".

The court heard that the bank believes "someone like Mr O'Donnell may well dissipate assets" and was "not to be trusted".

Bank of Ireland is seeking to enforce a €75m judgment against the solicitor and his wife over loans relating predominantly to property investments.

The luxury home is located on Vico Road in Killiney.
