Presenter Ray Foley has revealed that he hopes he doesn't get too much backlash over his weight gain when TV3's new quiz show The Algorithm airs tonight.

Ray has been open about his battle with his weight and had hoped to lose a few pounds before filming the show.

"They told me I got the job which was brilliant, and I thought 'I can go to the gym now and lose some weight and we'll film it in a few months'. But they were filming in 10 days' time so by the time they hired me it was too late to go and lose weight, unfortunately," he told the Herald.

"So that's my big concern - I'm larger than I used to be so there might be a bit of reaction to that I think.

"That said, I don't really mind, I'm quite happy being the way I am," he added.

The Algorithm airs on TV3 tonight at 8pm.
