Rape claim made by female Tinder user

A WOMAN has claimed she was raped on the outskirts of Dublin after meeting a man she had linked up with on the Tinder social network app.

She has told gardai she chatted online with the man over four days before agreeing to meet him for a coffee last Thursday.

But the woman, who is in her 30s, said the man then drove her to industrial estates and areas by the M50 before subjecting her to a sexual assault.

The woman, who was later dropped home by her attacker, reported the incident on Saturday and told gardai she thought she was going to be killed.

Gardai are trying to establish the exact location of the alleged attack to carry out a forensic examination.

They will also be using the information from the victim's phone and Tinder history to try to locate a suspect.

Meanwhile, gardai have arrested a 24-year-old man after a separate alleged sex attack in a public park in Crumlin yesterday.

The assault is believed to have taken place at 12.45pm in Pearse Park. The suspect is being held at Sundrive garda station.
