Quinns' €2.5m home still on market

THEIR €2.5m Kildare mansion has been on the market for four months, but the Quinn family still haven't found a replacement home.

Footballing legend Niall Quinn and his model wife Gillian put their home (inset) on the market in April because, with their children ready to fly the nest, they felt it was time to downsize.

"We haven't sold it yet but it's okay because we haven't found anywhere new yet," Niall told the Herald.

"I'm spending a lot of time in the UK, and even though we did that while I was in Sunderland, now that the kids are ready to do their own things we just want to get something a little bit smaller."

Busy Niall doesn't have much time to spare to search for a new home, so he's happy to let his glamorous wife take the reins when it comes to their move.

"That's Gillian's department. I wouldn't even know what I was talking about," he said.

The footballer-turned-businessman said his broadband business is finally turning a profit after a rocky start.

"We opened QSAT at a really tough time economically and we got through what all new businesses have to go through trying to move into a profitable area and now we've managed to do that," he said.

"It was a tough few years, but we've managed to do really well."

The modest dad of two credits his team with their success.

"They stuck with it when things were tough and their jobs are safe now," he said.

The success of his business and his pundit's role with Sky Sports keeps the 47-year-old on his toes, and even although he misses football he doesn't plan on returning to coaching any time soon.

"There are good people in soccer jobs and I wouldn't be out for their jobs by any means," he said.
