GARDAI are investigating after the body of 39-year-old man was found on the floor of his north Dublin home.
The dead man was discovered at the house in Swords by a member of his family at 11.40pm last night.
The relative called the emergency services and the house, at Castleview Close, was sealed off. The body remained at the scene early today.
A garda cordon around a section of the estate, including four houses, was set to remain in the area for a number of hours today until a full technical examination was completed.
It is unclear at this point how the man died. A post-mortem is due to be carried out this afternoon on the remains of the man. The State pathologist was expected to attend the house this morning to conduct a prelimary enquiry there before the body was removed to the city morgue for a full post mortem.
A neighbour, who did not wish to be named, told the Herald that the death was distressing for everyone in the area. "It's caused a lot of shock and sadness, it's a very quiet area and very little happens around here," he said.
