A DENTIST to the stars has claimed giving Shane MacGowan a Hollywood smile could cost as much as €50,000.

And the Pogues star is being warned that his rendition of classics including Fairytale Of New York may never sound the same again if he gets a new set of teeth.

Boxer Chris Eubank, Coronation Street star Keith Duffy, and National Lottery presenter Brian Ormond are just some of the big names whose teeth have been given a make-over by Clane dentist Barry Buckley.

Huge

But the dental expert is in no hurry to add Shane MacGowan to his client list, after his girlfriend Victoria Mary Clarke announced on Twitter that the Pogues singer was seeking a dentist so he can star in a Hollywood film.

"Shane needs a full mouth rehabilitation, which to reach Hollywood standards would cost at least €50,000. It's a huge amount of work," Mr Buckley told the Herald.

However the Kildare dentist has warned that should he go ahead with the work, Pogues classics will never sound the same.

"Any work on the front of the mouth is certainly going to affect how Shane sings. Songs like Fairytale Of New York may never sound the same if Shane sings them again after this kind of work," added Buckley.
