Pharma firm jobs boost

Global pharmaceutical group Warner Chilcott is to establish its new headquarters in Dundalk with the potential for up to 200 jobs.

The jobs boost for Louth will include analytical services, manufacturing operations and shared services to support the group's operations in the EU. Its markets include gastroenterology, women's healthcare, dermatology and urology.

Warner Chilcott is the first pharmaceutical company to locate in Dundalk. However, IDA regional manager Pat Doherty said that Ireland was currently home to 15 of the top 20 pharmaceutical companies in the world.
