Party 'attacked by pole gang'

A DUBLIN youth is to face trial after a masked gang allegedly armed with sharpened poles gate-crashed a party and attacked revellers.

The teenager has been charged at the Children's Court with engaging in a violent disorder with two others in connection with an incident, in Harold's Cross in Dublin, in November last year.

The court heard there had been a garden party for a young woman celebrating her 18th birthday. Three people are alleged to have broken in armed with sharpened poles.

The woman suffered bruising and one of her guests chipped a tooth. The then 17-year-old was remanded on bail to appear again in two weeks.
