Pair sent for trial on theft tools charge

TWO men have been sent for trial charged with having tools with intent to commit a theft in Dublin.

Brendan Smith (36) and John Bishop (49) had books of evidence served on them at Blanchardstown District Court.

Mr Smith, of St Marks' Avenue, Clondalkin and Mr Bishop, of Lisanisk, Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan, are both charged with having screwdrivers and vice grips for use in the course of a theft.

The offence is alleged to have happened at Griffeen Road, Lucan on May 6 last.

Judge David McHugh gave them notice that they must provide details of any alibis to the prosecution within 14 days. They were returned for trial to the next sittings of Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
