Pair are rescued from the Liffey

TWO men were hospitalised after they got into difficulty in the River Liffey.

The incident happened shortly after 5pm on Sunday afternoon near the Ha'Penny bridge.

One man was swept into the water, while the other managed to cling to the wall.

Seven units of the Dublin Fire Brigade attended the scene, including the Dublin Fire Brigade boat.

One man was rescued by the boat and the other was rescued from the wall of the Liffey by fire officers.
