TWO masked men are alleged to have produced a knife and an iron bar and demanded that a shop assistant hand over the contents of a till, a court heard.
Daniel Weldon (25) and Shane Heaphy (23) allegedly took €650 after robbing a convenience store in Swords.
Judge Patrick Brady remanded the pair in custody with consent to bail.
The judge ordered the two men to stay away from Eurospar in Swords, where the alleged incident occurred.
Weldon, of Glasmore Park, and Heaphy, of Jugback Lane, both Swords, appeared before Swords District Court charged with robbery at Eurospar, Applewood village, around 3pm on January 8.
Garda Noel Callan said two menentered the shop and demanded money from a shop assistant.
They were carrying a knife and an iron bar and made off with €653. In relation to Weldon, Detective Garda Aidan Maguire objected to bail, citing the seriousness of the charge.
Defence lawyer John Costello said Weldon was anxious to get bail as his partner had a miscarriage four days ago and he wanted to be with her. Judge Brady remanded both men in custody with consent to bail.
