IRISH bookmaker Paddy Power has raced ahead with a 15pc boost in profits listed at €56.8m for the first half of this year.
The group's online business jumped by 25pc to €45.3m and now just over 80pc of the group's profits come from online betting, said CEO Patrick Kennedy (right).
Mobile-phone betting is one area showing a meteoric rise -- with turnover jumping by almost 300pc.
And the majority of the profits (73pc) come from punters having a flutter outside Ireland.
Overall operating profits in its Irish shops fell 44pc to just over €5m, hit by unfavourable sports results, especially from Cheltenham.
